This FHWA-funded project rehabilitated the famous Pelican Boardwalk, replacing dilapidated timber stringers, caps, and cross braces. The project also replaced several timber piles and repaired eroded concrete pile footings, work that was completed while maintaining access for Pelican residents and emergency services. While proHNS Principal Engineer Garret Gladsjo, PE, handled contract management duties from our Juneau office, a proHNS Staff Engineer was on the ground in Pelican providing Project Engineer services. Our Office Engineer also remotely handled some office engineering duties and assisted with project closeout.
