Our Story
Established in 2015, the proHNS of today has come a long way from our humble beginnings in Haines, Alaska (hence the “HNS”). What started as a solution to help fill a void in professional engineering services (the “pro”) for a remote community of fewer than 2,000 residents, proHNS has since expanded its staffing, geographic reach, and services offered throughout Alaska and beyond.
Originally staffed by a single founding engineer working from a home office, proHNS now employs more than 25 staff members, including its owners and principal engineers, Garret Gladsjo, PE, and Lucas Chambers, PE. The company’s main offices are in Haines and Juneau, AK with staff working from field and home offices across the United States.
proHNS specializes in civil engineering & design, construction administration & inspection, project & construction management, environmental permitting, materials testing, and technical services for private developers, contractors, local municipalities, tribal governments, State agencies, and the Federal Highway Administration. In addition to our commitment to projects in Alaska, proHNS has and continues to provide services in Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Montana, and Wyoming.
