Location: Juneau, AK
Project Date: 2017-2018
Owner: City and Borough of Juneau
This ADOT project reconstructed a high-volume section of Glacier Highway between Fritz Cove Road and Seaview Avenue and involved relocation of City and Borough of Juneau (CBJ) owned water and sewer utilities. proHNS inspected and coordinated utility work on behalf of CBJ, ensuring ADOT’s contractor installed all mains, services and associated components according to CBJ’s standards and specifications. We inspected HDPE pipe fusing operations, performed water system sampling for bacteria testing, confirmed pressure testing, reviewed and approved material submittals, created construction as-builts, and prepared daily inspection records for CBJ’s reference. proHNS staff also coordinated daily with ADOT field staff and the contractor to ensure we were present for critical components of the utility work, allowing us to fully protect CBJ’s interests and assets from sub-par construction.
