We’re excited to welcome Lance Simons as our newest Civil/Environmental Engineering Intern here at proHNS! Having crossed paths with our Washington team as a junior Civil Engineering student at the University of Washington Tacoma, Lance was excited to join proHNS for our 2025 Summer Internship Program in support of our Southeast Alaska engineering and construction management and administration projects.
Drawn to our community-centric principles and a commitment to engineering sustainable infrastructure, Lance joined our Juneau engineering team, providing field inspection on road and utility reconstruction projects and AutoCAD trail design. Lance’s background in AutoCAD and Civil 3D contributed to his seamless integration with the engineering team, and his strong eagerness to learn through hands-on experience proved to be a valuable asset in supporting our clients on multiple job sites this summer.
As someone who loves the outdoors and the unique, remote environment of Juneau, Lance also enjoyed time well spent outside of his workday, salmon fishing, and exploring coastal Alaska. When he’s back in Washington, Lance plays ice hockey and volunteers as a Head Coach for a local youth hockey development program that prepares athletes for competitions in Europe.
