Mary spent 16 years with the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities performing field and laboratory materials testing across Southeast. She worked independently as a Materials Testing Technician on large infrastructure improvement projects, sampling and testing large quantities of embankment, aggregates, concrete, and asphalt concrete pavement. While materials are her true passion and specialty, she also provided inspection and survey support, giving her a well-rounded background in the construction industry. While working for DOT&PF, she simultaneously co-owned and operated a Haines-based concrete plant, setting up the plant’s Quality Control Program for materials. Mary left DOT&PF in 2010 to work as a Laboratory Technician for Kensington Mine, and subsequently transitioned from laboratory testing to paste plant and pugmill operation. She joined proHNS after spending 11 years with the mine, and has become the firm’s go-to resource for reviewing materials-related deliverables.
