Jeff Guerrero, PE, brings 18 years of experience in water resources engineering and ecological restoration to his role as a Water Resources Engineer at proHNS. He earned his B.S. in Engineering from Calvin College in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and began his career specializing in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, design, and permitting for fish passage and habitat improvement projects.

Jeff was drawn to proHNS by the firm’s commitment to work-life balance and opportunities to work on fish passage projects, also known as aquatic organism passage (AOP). He is passionate about sustainability-focused work that emphasizes both ecological restoration and resilient infrastructure. Jeff also brings valuable expertise in stormwater engineering, an area of growing importance in proHNS projects throughout Southeast Alaska and the Pacific Northwest. In his previous role, Jeff managed a team of water resources engineers and environmental scientists supporting projects that included stream restoration and realignment, bank stabilization, and dam breach analyses. While Jeff works remotely from Illinois, he maintains PE licenses in Alaska, Illinois, Indiana, Michigan, New York, Ohio, South Dakota, and Washington, supporting the firm’s growing geographic reach.

Outside of work, Jeff enjoys a wide range of hobbies, from fishing and rugby to custom woodworking. He recently designed and built an electric go-kart with his neighbor. His latest adventure is visiting America’s national parks with his wife and two daughters, sparking countless hikes and wildlife-viewing opportunities.
