This bridge replacement construction project is currently under way with construction management performed by proHNS. The site is located 26 miles northwest of Haines and receives no cell reception, requiring staff to make independent decisions in the best interest of the client. Work includes constructing a temporary work access across the Klehini River to allow the new structure to be built while the existing bridge remains in use. Major work items include 9,200 cubic yards of excavation, 16,800 tons of borrow, and 6,000 cubic yards of riprap. The Klehini project involves structural inspection, culvert installation, preparation of SWPPP documents, and compliance with fish habitat and Army Corps of Engineers permits.
